5 Tips for Getting Started with Your Life Story

Writing is how we share information, stories and history with our friends and families.

Here are 5 tips to help you start writing about your life:/p>

    1. Write about your passions. Focusing on a topic that brings you joy will make the writing process more satisfying.
    2. Do your research. Go through old photo albums, review childhood diaries, and talk to family and friends. The more prepared you are, the easier it will be to write a great story. You can add those photos and images to your manuscript through the DIYBook writing platform, preserving them alongside your words.
    3. Set aside regular time to write. Whether you have ten minutes a day or an hour a week to devote to your writing, block it on your calendar as you would any important appointment.
    4. Create a welcoming writing nook. A kitchen table or a comfy sofa might be your writing nook; wherever it is, make it yours. Clear your writing area of distractions wherever you work and surround yourself with items make you happy.
    5. Write! Sometimes writing the first word is the hardest. Remember that you can always come back and refine and edit your work.
